The Urban Agriculture Collective Asking for Community's Help
The Urban Agriculture Collective of Charlottesville is asking for the community's help to buy a solar greenhouse.
The group spent Saturday afternoon at "Feast" trying to get the word out about their Kickstarter campaign. It's a way for people to donate money online for the greenhouse.
The collective says the passive greenhouse will provide an environmentally-friendly way to provide more healthy food to people in the community.
"It's going to allow us to grow more seedlings to transplant into the garden and it gives us protected space for things to grow in the springtime as well as in the fall and throughout the year," said Todd Niemeier of the UAC.
The money will also help the collective buy an energy saving walk-in cooler. The group has 16 days left to raise $10,000.
