Arrest Made in Connection with Albemarle Teen's Disappearance

A Tennessee man is under arrest and Albemarle County police say he is linked to the disappearance of a teenager.
Friday night, a 16-year-old from Albemarle County disappeared from her home but turned up safe the next day. Albemarle County police are quick to point out it was not a random act, saying the proof is in the arrest.
Johnathan Lee Messer, 24, is facing four felony child porn charges. He is not facing any abduction or kidnapping charges at this point.
Before her disappearance, the teen was last seen at her house about 11 p.m. Friday. Her family later found her cellphone near the front yard. But she returned home safely Saturday morning, and Tuesday, police announced that everyone involved knew each other.
Messer was picked up by Virginia Beach police Wednesday. He is currently being held without bond at the Virginia Beach City Jail.

An arrest has been made on a suspect who was connected to the disappearance of an Albemarle County teenager on Friday, October 18th.
On October 23rd, Virginia Beach Police served warrants on 24 year old, Johnathan Lee Messer from Kingsport, TN. Messer was charged with one felony count of production or distribution of child pornography, one felony count of use of electronic means for child pornography and two felony counts of possession of child pornography.
Messer is currently being held without bond at the Virginia Beach City Jail. It is important to point out that this was not a random act and there is no public safety threat for our community.
This case remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
