A historic rock wall in Charlottesville is not going to be history, even though some people in the community worried it was gone for good.
The rock wall went up in 1930. Located on Route 250 near McIntire Road, it at an access point for the Meadowcreek Parkway, which is now under construction. The parkway is part of a conduit from downtown Charlottesville to Route 29.
City leaders say, by contract, workers are restoring the historic rock wall as part of the roadway project.
