Madison County Schools will be closed Monday, October 21.
Superintendent Matthew Eberhart said in an email:
"We received a communication shortly after 5pm this evening that caused us to initiate safety protocol.
Law enforcement met with schools this evening at 8 p.m. with a recommendation to close schools.
Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, October 21.
As all communities know, safety and security are number one concerns ... always, first and foremost."
He also said via text message, "Schools are being canvassed by law enforcement Sunday evening and will be checked again Monday. There is no threat. This is all precautionary."
