Mobile Singing Competition Stops in Albemarle

Posted: Updated:

A music recording studio on wheels is giving central Virginia performers a shot at winning a national competition.

The 48-foot mobile recording studio parked outside the Crutchfield Store in Albemarle County Sunday. It comes complete with electronic drums, plenty of guitars, and microphones.

The studio is part of Polk Audio's national song competition. To enter, a band sings the Doobie Brother's hit "Listen to the Music."

"The public will vote and the winner will get to open for John Legend and Walk Off the Earth in Las Vegas," Christopher Stella of Polk Audio said.

The bus will be heading to Atlanta next to record more hopeful musicians.
