Chili Cook-off Benefits Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville
Teams of cooks brought batches of their best chili to Charlottesville Saturday to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.
Red Shoe Cville held its second annual Chili Cook-off in front of Wild Wing Cafe. People got to taste test and vote for their favorite recipe while enjoying live music.
Organizers say Saturday's dreary weather was perfect chili eating.
"October is the perfect opportunity to get outside and if the weather will be somewhat agreeable then it's a great time to get outside and support an amazing local charity," Brooke Jenkins, president of Red Shoe Cville, said.
Red Shoe Cville is the social extension of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville.
Last year's chili cook-off raised about $500.
