A man accused in a bar fight that led to another man's death was found guilty of a lesser charge Thursday morning.
Joseph Terry, 32, of Keswick was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter relating to an incident outside Riverside North, a restaurant and bar in the Hollymead area, in June. Thursday morning, a judge reduced that charge to misdemeanor assault and sentenced him to one year in jail.
Vincent Shifflett, 22, died the day after the assault. Doctors said he suffered a brain aneurysm - but investigators say autopsy results from the medical examiner's office in Richmond prompted Terry's involuntary manslaughter charge.
