Albemarle's Dominique Talley Named Falcon Club Player of the Week

Posted: Updated:

Albemarle High School running back Dominique Talley has been named the Falcon Club Player of the Week.

Talley rushed for 269 yards and two touchdowns in a wild game against rival Western Albemarle.  Talley also caught a pass for 51 yards.

Albemarle lost the game 41-39 on a last second touchdown by the Warriors.

Talley says, "Everybody's talking about how good of a performance I had but to me that's just part of the game, I really wanted to win that game it hurts a lot. People I'd like to thank are my offensive lineman, they blocked so well Friday night and without them this award wouldn't be possible and I want to thank my coaches and all my teammates without them none of this would have happened."

Albemarle HS head coach Mike Alley says, "Its exciting for Dominique but its exciting for our program as well because as Dominique will tell you he can't run like that without having some blockers in front of him."

Albemarle is now 1-1 in the Jefferson District.  The Patriots play at Powhatan on Friday.
