A Staunton man is behind bars and facing dozens of forgery charges.
Louis Goulet, 50, is charged with 35 counts of possession and usage of counterfeit money. The Augusta County Sheriff's Office arrested him Monday after they say he printed and used fake $50 bills for purchases.
Investigators say multiple stores, mostly in Augusta County, reached out for help from incidents starting last Friday.
Goulet is scheduled to appear in Augusta County General District Court in February.
