Waynesboro Senior Center Offers Insurance Counseling
Insurance counseling at Waynesboro Senior Center
Navigating through insurance plans can get very tricky, but the Waynesboro Senior Center is offering free services to help.
Open enrollment runs October 15 through December 7, so the center encourages senior citizens to schedule appointments with counselors, available to break down the different options based on individual needs and medications.
"Medicare is an extraordinarily complex program and, even for folks that are very well-educated and that have access to the Internet and the Medicare website, it can be very overwhelming," said Janice Gentry, director of senior services for Staunton, Augusta and Waynesboro.
Last year, the center helped more than 550 people during this time period in the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro area alone. To set up an appointment with a counselor, call 540-942-1838.
