Hundreds of people took part in a walk in Charlottesville Saturday morning to battle AIDS in our community.
The 5K Charlottesville AIDS Walk began at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion on the downtown mall. The AIDS/HIV services group, or ASG, hosted the walk.
ASG says new HIV infections nationwide are most prevalent among heterosexual women and girls.
This year's goal was to raise at least $50,000.
