The #2 ranked Covenant boys soccer team improved to 7-1-1 on the season Wednesday with a 6-0 win over the Miller School.  The Eagles were led by Alec Dejong's two goals.   Four other players scored including Kevin Coleman and Tian Duan.

Later in the day former Covenant athletics director and head baseball coach Doug Smethurst was honored by the Falcon Club for getting his 300th career coaching victory last Spring with the Covenant baseball team.

Smethurst said, "It was a great ride, we started in 1995 and had a JV team then went to varsity the following year. If you're going to be successful you better have great players and that's what we had at Covenant. Just wonderful young men including Trey Bickers that presented the award tonight, I just couldn't feel more proud and more blessed."

Smethurst also coached basketball and soccer at Covenant during his 23 years as athletics director.
