Black Knights Host Lions in District Opener Friday

Posted: Updated:

The Charlottesville HS Black Knights play host to Louisa County Friday night at 7:30pm in the Jefferson District opener for both teams.

Charlottesville has a record of 2-1.   Louisa is 1-2.

Last year the Black Knights got five touchdowns from running back Chris Thurston in a 46-14 win over Louisa.

CHS center/DE Wade Kamauff says, "We always have to establish the run and get Chris going. He's such a big part of our offense."

Louisa defensive end Randy Jackson says, "We've been talking about that all week, that's why we've been practicing hard all week because we don't want to get embarrased like we did last year. Every position we think we have them, we just have to watch out for Thurston that's it."

CHS head coach Eric Sherry says, "With our offense its about reading what they give you, sometimes they may take away Thurston, the next guy just has to step up and be able to execute the scheme."
