Move2Health to Attend Apple Festival in Nelson on Sept. 28

Va.) – In an effort to engage more Nelson County residents in an active
lifestyle, Move2Health partners will hold an informational booth at
Drumheller's Orchard Apple Festival on September 28, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
at 1130 Drumheller Orchard Lane in Lovingston.
Information, resources and other materials will be available
for anyone who would like to join the challenge, as well as for those who have
already joined. "We are looking forward to being at the Apple Fest and locally
promoting such a worthwhile project," says Peggy Whitehead, Move2Health partner
and Executive Director of the Blue Ridge Medical Center. "It is exciting to see
those minutes build on the Move2Health Challenge web page and
we're hopeful the total minutes moved in Nelson County will rise even more after
Move2Health is a community campaign that encourages residents
of the Thomas Jefferson Health District to add more physical activity to their
daily routines. Participants log their minutes of activity on the Move2Health
website. The campaign's current challenge is for everyone to move 30 minutes a
day, five days a week, with an ultimate challenge goal to reach one million
minutes moved by December 31, 2013.
