Piedmont Virginia Community College is back open after being evacuated Monday afternoon because of a bomb threat.

According to Anita Showers, manager of marketing and media relations at PVCC, three people received the threat via email Monday afternoon. The school was evacuated shortly after.

Showers also confirms that both Albemarle County police and Virginia State Police investigated the threat and have now cleared it.

PVCC's main campus is back open, but classes will not resume until Tuesday.
