The Virginia baseball team beat High Point University 14-6 in an exhibition game Sunday at Davenport Field.
The victory will not count towards UVa's 2014 win-loss record, but it does count as one of the 56 games teams are allowed to play, per NCAA regulations.
Nathan Kirby got the start on the mound for the Cavaliers against the Panthers.
The left-handed sophomore pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits, while striking out three.
Virginia was held scoreless until the 7th inning, before later scoring five runs in the 12th and three in the 15th.
The Cavaliers will host the Ontario Blue Jays in an exhibition game Friday.
