#4 UVa Field Hockey Suffers First Loss 2-1 Against #1 UNC

The #4 Virginia field hockey team was handed its first loss of the season as the Cavaliers fell 2-1 against op-ranked North Carolina Friday night at University Hall Turf Field.

North Carolina's Charlotte Craddock scored the game-winning goal with 5:09 remaining in the game.
Virginia falls to 7-1 and 0-1 in the ACC. Meanwhile, North Carolina improves to 7-0 and 1-0 in conference play.

Hadley Bell had Virginia's sole assist and Riley Tata had the only Cavalier goal.
Virginia will take on another ranked team on Sunday, Sept. 22 when the Cavaliers host No. 13 Northwestern at 1 p.m.
