RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Safety and victim advocates and law enforcement representatives are among the scheduled speakers at a conference on distracted driving.
The conference will be held Thursday at the Westin Richmond and is being presented by the nonprofit group Drive Smart Virginia.
The group says discussions will be held on teen safety, distracted driving research and law enforcement challenges.
Legislative sponsors of a law that made texting and driving in Virginia a primary offense in July will discuss the topic.
National Transportation Safety Board acting chairman Deborah Hersman also will address the sold-out conference.
