The man accused of assaulting his girlfriend in Charlottesville and then having a standoff with police in Fluvanna County pleaded guilty to the assault Tuesday in Charlottesville Circuit Court.
James Lewis Kardos, 24, will be sentenced in December 17.
He fought with his girlfriend along Sheridan Avenue in Charlottesville when visiting her and their child. Kardos then went to his father's home in Lake Monticello where a standoff ensued. He still faces a charge in Fluvanna County for that.
His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday in Fluvanna County Circuit Court.
