Battle of the Bands Auction Raising Money for Cville Nonprofit

Bands from across the
commonwealth will be competing to raise money for a Charlottesville nonprofit.
The Building Goodness
Foundation set up shop at the City Market Saturday to promote their biggest
fundraiser of the year. The event will feature a
battle of the bands and an inaugural Rockin' Auction.
Six bands including Fatty
Lumpkin and the Love Hogs will be vying for votes and raising money for the
"They're all competing for
bragging rights and people who come can vote with their dollars - we call it
Chicago-style voting and that's how a band wins. The one that raises the most
money for Building Goodness Foundation's great work wins the night," said Allison
Scholl, director of resource development.
The showdown will take
place Friday, September 20 at the Jefferson Theater starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $150.
