Commission Appointed on Slavery, UVA

Posted: Updated:

The University of Virginia's president has called for a new commission to commemorate the school's historical relationship with slavery.

Twenty-seven university faculty, students, alumni and community members will investigate the interpretation of buildings and sites at the university related to slavery.

They will then propose projects that would educate people about enslaved individuals who worked at UVA and honor their work.
