Pets in the Park Fundraiser to Benefit Augusta SPCA
This Saturday, get your dogs and take them to Gypsy Hill Park for the annual Pets in the Park event. The event is the Augusta Regional SPCA's biggest fundraiser.
The animal walk begins at 9 a.m., and then a dog show takes place at 11 a.m. They're aiming to bring in about $50,000.
"The main thing that makes it so unique is the fact that the public can bring their animals. And you know people care about their animals and they want to show them off, so it's a day that we not only can educate but we can include the community," said Debbie Caywood, the director of the Augusta SPCA.
The event also includes a petting zoo, as well as a chance to microchip your pets.
Cats are unfortunately not allowed, but you can enter the "Candid Cat Photo Contest" by bringing in a picture.
