The real-life hero of the movie "Argo" shared his story in the Shenandoah Valley Tuesday evening.

Tony Mendez and his wife Jonna, both retired from the CIA, spoke to a packed house at Bridgewater College. Mendez, portrayed by Ben Affleck in the movie "Argo," rescued six American hostages from Iran under the guise of a fake Hollywood movie.

He says the movie is 90 percent accurate.

"Those things that were represented were represented in a way that I would want them to be represented. Sometimes you got to change a fact in order to tell the story, but we didn't change any facts that took a thing away from the story," he said.

Mendez and his wife have both served as the CIA Chief of Disguise. The pair has written three books and travels the world telling the story of "Argo."
