Charlottesville Football Picks Up Unexpected Win

Posted: Updated:

The Charlottesville high school football team has picked up an unexpected win.

Per Culpeper's Star Exponent, CHS has been awarded a win in last Friday's game against Culpeper because Culpeper used an ineligible player and has been forced to forfeit.

According to Culpeper HS activities director Mike Wills, an unnamed senior spent his freshman year at an out-of-state high school before transferring to Culpeper and retaking his freshman year. No transcripts were received from the out-of-state school, and the issue was discovered Friday morning during a casual conversation with a guidance counselor.

The Black Knights had lost the game 31-0.   CHS now has a record of 1-1.

Culpeper will play at Madison County Friday night.
