#4 UVa Women's Soccer Concludes Non-Conference Schedule With Perfect Record

Posted: Updated:

The 6-0 Virginia women's soccer team concluded their non-conference schedule with a perfect record for the first time since 2004.

Head coach Steve Swanson said, "Certainly in terms of the goals we're scoring and the chances we're creating against good teams is a good sign. I think the biggest thing now moving forward is how much better can we get? Can we get better? And is there the want to get better? Which I feel confident in this team, that's what they'll do."

Sunday, the Cavaliers blanked Seton Hall 3-nil to wrap up non-conference play.

Junior midfielder Morgan Brian led the 'Hoos with two goals and an assist against the Pirates.

Brian said, "One of our short term goals is to defend that title, the ACC Championship but we gotta take it one game at a time and play the soccer we can play and I think everything else with take care of itself."

Virginia begins conference play against ACC newcomer Syracuse Thursday at Klockner Stadium.

Makenzy Doniak said, "we're definitely getting good games in and getting prepared for the ACC. It's such a tough conference. I think we're getting ready and knowing what we have to work on in practice. It's just step by step."
