Pet owners in central Virginia have a chance to showcase their dog's or cat's greatest tricks and talents for a prize.

The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is holding its first "best in show" video contest.

Owners can upload a video of their pets to Vimeo or YouTube and then try to earn the most dollar donation votes.

The SPCA is encouraging pet owners to get creative.

"The videos can have any theme. They can be fun, they can show if your pet does an amazing trick.  They can be really good at agility - that's a great one.  r if they love to wear adorable outfits - that's also a lot of fun," Lisa Lane of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA said.

The contest entry fee is a $20 tax-deductible donation to the SPCA.

The winning pet will receive a grooming session, their own trainer and a spot to compete in the 2013 Critter Ball.

The deadline for voting is September 27 at midnight.
