Former Fork Union quarterback Christian Hackenberg set a Penn State record Saturday, passing for 311 yards in the Nittany Lions 45-7 win against Eastern Michigan.
The 311 yards is the highest single-game total for a freshman QB in program history.
The true freshman completed 22-of-33 passes with one touchdown in his second career start, and first in front of the home crowd.
"It was unreal," says Hackenberg. "The student section, praise them for coming out. They always come out in force, as well as all the fans. Big, big difference than walking in there empty. They try to simulate it with noise, but nothing compares."
