The Virginia Tech football team beat Western Carolina 45-3 Saturday at Lane Stadium.
Freshman Trey Edmunds rushed for 68-yards and two touchdowns on fifteen carries, while fellow freshman Chris Mangus ran for a 76-yard TD in the 2nd half.
Quarterback Logan Thomas completed 17-of-31 passes for 200 yards.
The senior had one touchdown and two interceptions.
Thomas says, "When we're executing, we're doing as much as we can, and we feel good about ourselves. We can do that the entire time. We can throw the ball, we can run the ball, I know that's how we feel. I feel comfortable.
Freshman receiver Joshua Stanford says, "I got a little bit more opportunities this week than I did last week. This week I was just trying to practice well, and play well, and be there when Logan needed me."
Junior safety Detrick Bonner had two interceptions for Tech.
The Hokies are now 1-1 on the season, after losing their first game of the season 35-10 against #1 Alabama in Atlanta.
Virginia Tech will travel to face East Carolina next Saturday at noon.
