Small Plane Crash in Louisa, No Injuries

Posted: Updated:

State police believe a brake malfunction caused a small plane to crash during an air show in Louisa County.

The 1929 fleet fixed wing single-engine plane was landing at Freeman Field just after 11 a.m.

Police say the plane ran off the runway, hit an embankment, and overturned.

The pilot, 53-year-old Byron Stewart from Warrenton, and his 17-year-old female passenger from Brandy Station were not injured.

The FAA is on-scene investigating the crash.
