Grottoes Man Arrested, Charged in BB&T Bank Robbery

A Grottoes man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery.

Jonathan Holts, 22, is charged with grand larceny for the theft of a gun from the Gun Shack and charged with robbing the BB&T in Greenville on August 29. He also faces a charge of using a firearm in commission of a felony.

Holts is currently being held at the Middle River Regional Jail.


Augusta County Sheriff's Office Press Release

On 9/6/13, Jonathan Daniel Holts (age 23), of Grottoes, was taken into custody by the Augusta County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with grand larceny for the theft of a gun from the Gun Shack (6/24/13) and charged with the bank robbery of the BB&T Bank on 8/29/13 as well as the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The Sheriff's Office sincerely appreciates the assistance received from the community during the investigation of the aforementioned criminal offenses.

He is currently being held at the Middle River Regional Jail.
