Buckingham Man Arrested after Waynesboro Crash, Foot Chase

A man is out of the hospital and facing charges after leading Waynesboro police on a chase.
Jason Todd Cash, 39, was treated at Augusta Health Friday evening for serious injuries. The Buckingham County man is facing eluding and other charges after leading officers on a car chase and foot pursuit Friday morning.
Police say he cash crashed a stolen Chevrolet pickup truck after an officer tried to pull him over along East Main Street in Waynesboro. He then took off on foot, but was found nearby.
Cash is also wanted on several charges out of Buckingham County.

Cash was discharged from Augusta Health at approximately 2:30 PM into the custody of the Police Department. He faces two felony charges, driving while being a habitual offender and eluding, for the Waynesboro incident earlier today. Officers also recovered suspected narcotics from Cash. Drug charges are pending.
Cash has also been served six charges from the Buckingham County Sheriff's Office from a similar incident on August 6, 2013. Those charges are three felonies, eluding, driving while being a habitual offender and possession of a Schedule I or II drug; and three misdemeanors, improper registration of a vehicle, failure to have a vehicle inspected and knowingly operate a vehicle without liability insurance.

The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a Buckingham County man after a vehicle pursuit which resulted in a car crash and ended in a foot chase with the apprehension of the suspect.
Jason Todd Cash, 39 years old, is currently being treated at Augusta Health for serious injuries after he crashed the stolen 1989 Chevrolet S10 pick-up he was driving when he tried to evade an officer who tried to stop him at approximately 7:45 AM this morning on E Main St. He then fled on foot but was located about 400 yards away from he crashed.
Cash is also wanted on numerous charges out of Buckingham County. The crash and investigation are continuing at this time.
