The Pressure Is On For Sprint Cup Race In Richmond
The Sprint Cup Series will run its final race of the regular season this weekend, as NASCAR pays a visit to Richmond.
Ten drivers will be vying for the final five spots in the Chase for the Championship Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway.
Dale Earnhardt Junior would make the Chase with a finish of 32nd or better.
Joey Logano needs to place at least 11th to get into the postseason.
Defending series champion Brad Keselowski needs to win to get in, and has to finish with more points than a couple of different drivers.
Keselowski says, "This is probably the closest Chase battle we've had, as far as getting into the Chase, in quite some time, which always lends itself to drivers getting crazy. There's a lot on the line here at Richmond this weekend, and that's a good thing."
Earnhardt says, "You work all year long for an opportunity to run in the Chase, to be a part of the Championship, and I don't know if anybody can blame you for taking that opportunity, and taking what's there."
Logano says, "Those guys that need a win, and they're in position to, 'Hey, if you pass one car, I'm in the Chase, and one car I'm not in the Chase,' that's going to be crazy."
"That's racing," adds Earnhardt. "That's why we have bumpers on these cars, and sometimes you got to use them."
The green flag drops Saturday night at 7:30 PM in Richmond.
