STAUNTON, Va. (AP) - A Virginia Department of Corrections probation officer faces bribery, drug, gun and sex charges in Staunton.
Meaghan Fields is accused of having sex with two probationers, providing drugs to probationers and providing a gun to a convicted felon. The bribery charges involve treatment given to four probationers in exchange for unspecified benefits or favors.
The News Leader reports that a grand jury indicted the 29-year-old Buena Vista resident on Tuesday. She is being held at the Middle River Regional Jail. It's unclear whether she has an attorney.
Department of Corrections spokesman Larry Traylor says Fields served as a probation officer in Staunton from October 2011 until September 2012.
