RG3 Not Worried About Injuries As Season Approaches
Quarterback Robert Griffin III
The NFL season kicks off Thursday night with the Broncos hosting the Ravens in Denver.
NFL Kickoff begins at 7:30 on NBC 29.
The Redskins won't play their season opener against the Eagles until Monday night in front of a national TV audience on ESPN.
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will start Monday.
RG3 says he has learned his lesson and will slide more to avoid hits this season, and has no lingering concerns about his reconstructed knee.
"Football is football," says Griffin. "You're going to get hit when you play the game, I don't really worry about it. Just go out there and play, that's what we get up every morning to do. We enjoy it. I'm not afraid of it. I'm not really anxious about it. Just go out and play."
Griffin did not play in any of Washington's preseason games, but head coach Mike Shanahan says he's not concerned with his QB being rusty.
"He's been practicing for the last few weeks at game-like speed," says Shanahan. "He's had more reps in his 2013 training camp than the year before. He's thrown about 50 more passes. He's ready to go."
