Man Found Injured Possibly Days after Motorcycle Wreck
UPDATE: The man, whose name has not yet been released by police, is currently in stable condition at the UVA Medical Center as of Friday afternoon.
A nightmare experience is over for a man who went off a twisting Albemarle County road and laid there injured for what could have been days.
The motorcycle crash happened on Scottsville Road near Carter's Bridge. The wreck was discovered around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, but the accident itself may have happened Monday night or Tuesday morning.
A friend, Raymond Cook, took the initiative to start searching when the victim couldn't be found.
"My friend was reported missing around 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. when they realized he hadn't reported to work yesterday morning. We all searched the roads and did what we needed to do and were fortunate enough to be able to find him in this heavy growth," said Raymond Cook.
Cook says his friend was responsive when he was found. According to the Albemarle County police, he had be lifted up the embankment and was rushed to the University of Virginia Medical Center with serious injuries.
