Virginia Tech lost its season opener Saturday, as the Hokies fell 35-10 against top-ranked Alabama in Atlanta.
While Tech gave up a lot of touchdowns, it wasn't the fault of the defense.
The Crimson Tide scored 21-points off a punt return, an interception return, and a kickoff return.
The Hokies held the #1 team in the nation to just 206 yards of total offense, including less than one hundred yards rushing.
Head coach Frank Beamer says "We played well defensively. I thought we were after them, and tackled well against a good back, good backs. The total offensive plays and yards, I think we got them by about six yards. We got something to build on here."
Virginia Tech will host Western Carolina next week in Blacksburg.
