Charlottesville Churches Raising Money for Syrian Refugees

Posted: Updated:

Anglican churches in Charlottesville are banding together to help Syrian refugees. The congregations are raising money to send groups from Liberty University to set up emergency shelters for families.

Anglican fellowship member Bill Bray says everyone can get involved to help the millions of Syrians who fled the conflict in their country.

"In a situation like this where there's so much hatred, so much violence, and murder, so much especially sectarian violence, we need to - we must show a humanitarian response," he said.

All Saints Anglican Church took up a collection during Sunday morning's services for the refugees. The church will collect gifts through next Sunday.
