Police have released surveillance photos from an armed robbery at the Greenville BB&T bank, located at 4033 Lee Jackson Highway,  that happened Thursday.

According to police, around 9:30 a.m. a man entered the bank with a handgun and took just over $4,000. No injuries were reported.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office is still trying to track down the person - or people - responsible for the robbery. They now say the man that  walked off with the cash may have had a getaway car.

Police aren't sure if the suspect acted alone or had other accomplices involved in the robbery - or if it is connected to any other similar incidents.

"If someone observed a vehicle that was unoccupied, in the morning hours, or even occupied, to please let us know," said Deputy Felicia Click of the Augusta Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office says the suspect escaped on foot, and was last seen headed southbound toward Route 11 in a long-sleeved dark shirt, dark pants and a light, straw hat. The surveillance photos provide a better description - showing him in athletic pants with a light stripe down the side.

If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-2017.
