Drug Bust in Greene Yields at least $665K of Marijuana
Dunnes Shop Road
A drug bust in Greene County yielded more than half a million dollars in marijuana Thursday. This was a joint investigation conducted by the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement and The Blue Ridge Drug Task Force, who were on the scene at a Ruckersville home all day.
Investigators say that 190 marijuana plants - worth about $665,000 - were seized from the home on Dunnes Shop Road. Investigators also seized a pound of processed marijuana and a pound of loose marijuana totaling $7,000, as well as seven firearms from the home.
Investigators say it was a marijuana growing operation. The home had four grow rooms, one processing room and one dry room.
There have not been any charges filed and no one has been arrested but the investigation is ongoing. Police are not yet releasing the name of any suspect.
