The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested two individuals in separate felony shoplifting cases from Kohl's, 841 Town Center Drive, that occurred 3 ½ hours apart from each other on August 27.
At 5:15 PM, officers responded to the store for a report of a female shoplifter, Whitney Renee Allman, 21 years old of Afton, that had fled the store by vehicle with hundreds of dollars of merchandise.
An officer located Allman's vehicle on Rosser Ave and stopped her at Applebee's. Officers and store loss prevention staff determined that Allman had gone to Kohl's numerous times on Tuesday and smuggled out $686 worth of jewelry, clothing and other items, including the shoes she was wearing at the time she was stopped. Officers charged Allman with one count of felony shoplifting.
Officers also recovered some drug paraphernalia from her that will be sent off for analysis.
She is being held on a $5000 bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
At 8:35 PM, officers responded again to Kohl's for a report of a male shoplifter, Floyd Elwood Shifflett III, 24 years old of no fixed address, who had just fled on foot across the parking lot. An officer chased after Shifflett until he fell on the parking lot and was taken into custody.
Shifflett, who was also wanted on a capias for failing to appear in Waynesboro General District Court, had stolen shoes, underwear and socks from the store, which were all recovered.
He is being held on a $7500 bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
