Covenant's Drew Gaffney Brings Home Falcon Player of the Week
Covenant's Drew Gaffney gets the first coveted Falcon Club Player of the Week T-shirt.
Gaffney was on the field for every play in Covenant's season opener Friday, playing full back on offense and linebacker on defense.
The junior had a team high 13 tackles, including two for a loss.
Gaffney said, "our team was really battling hard and I guess this is something good to take away from a tough loss but we're working hard this week and we're gonna be back at it on Saturday." He added, "our coach told us not to take a play off so every time we got tired we kept saying listen to coach Rocco. He said no plays off so that was our motto."
Head coach Dave Rocco said, "he made a lot of standout plays. It was interesting because our game did not go very well. Watching film, he's one player that played 100% every play."
