Posted: Updated:

UPDATE:  What 911 dispatchers initially confirmed was an attempted abduction Monday night in Albemarle County is now being investigated as a suspicious circumstance.

Albemarle investigator Paul Quillon confirms that the Albemarle County Police Department is investigating an attempted abduction of a minor around 6 p.m. on the 2600 block of Browns Gap Turnpike.

Albemarle County police are looking for a man with long dreadlocks, driving a white, late model four-door sedan – possibly a Subaru.

A small number of Reverse 911 calls were sent out to those who live nearby.

Anyone with any information is being asked to call 911 or Crimestoppers at 434-977-4000.
