Charlottesville NOW Donates Books to Regional Library
A group in Charlottesville is celebrating Women's Equality Day by sharing a piece of history. In honor of the 93rd anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, Charlottesville NOW donated two books to the city library.
The group donated "Dont Assume I Don't Cook" and "Grace and Grit", the story of Lily Ledbetter, to the Jefferson Madison Regional Library. It hopes these new additions to the library will provide a glimpse into history that isn't always taught in school.
"Books are wonderful. It's almost like you're having a private conversation with the book so there's a lot to be learned in the books, and a library is always an incredible resource so we're just providing a little bit more," said Kobby Hoffman, president of Charlottesville NOW.
Those books are now available for checkout at the regional library.
