Charlottesville Holds its First Community Flea Market
The Carver Rec Center
Charlottesville held its
first community flea market Saturday. The Carver Recreation Center
hosted the indoor flea market.
Thirty-five vendors set up
shop to sell items including clothes, books and jewelry. Organizers say they chose to hold the flea
market to feature a different kind of recreation.
"We're trying to offer different things every
time and just get new people and new faces into the building so we can see what
we're all about at Carver Rec Center. We just want this to be a place where
everybody can come and recreate and have fun," Dan Carpenter, manager of the
Carver Rec Center, said.
Organizers say about 300
people had stopped in to the flea market by its halfway point. They hope to make this an
