Panera Bread is opening
its doors in Waynesboro starting Wednesday - bright and early.
At 6:30 a.m. the 8,000-square-foot
location right off Lew Dewitt, on the Rosser Avenue end, will open.
Panera offers a children's
area, free Wi-Fi and a drive-through. And the business is already giving back
to the community through its partner, the Wildlife Center of Virginia.
"During our soft openings
we collected donations in lieu of people actually paying for their orders and
we matched that dollar for dollar, 100 percent. They'll be our annual partner
throughout the year, so we have cash boxes at our registers in which our
customers can drop money in there and we actually match that as well," said
Allie Munsey, Panera marketing coordinator.
Panera will present the
wildlife center with a $2,000 check during a grand opening ribbon cutting Wednesday
at 10 a.m.
