Board of Architectural Review Approves Demolition of Republic Plaza
An old office building in Charlottesville will be knocked down and replaced by an apartment complex.
The Board of Architectural Review voted Tuesday night to demolish Republic Plaza, a 25-year-old office building on West Main Street near the University of Virginia Medical Center. The three-story building currently houses various offices.
The building is slated to be replaced by a large apartment complex. Landmark Acquisitions is the group that proposed the demolition and the new complex.
