Don't think you could survive on your own in the wilderness? Have no fear because this weekend the Virginia Sportsmen's Foundation and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will be hosting a training course for survival in the outdoors.
The course will be held at the Liberty Corner Farm in Albemarle County.
Designed to be both a beginners hunting course as well as a training course for survival, by the end of the day students will receive 10 hours of classroom, hands-on instruction and a hunter safety course certificate.
In order to prepare for this course students should bring hearing and eye protection, ammunition and a shotgun and/or a rifle if they plan on staying after the course for supervised shooting instruction.
This class is free and lunch featuring wild game will be provided.
