Health Expo Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Women's Four Miler
A fair to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Women's Four Miler Training Program is encouraging people in central Virginia to get healthy and active.
Live music, games for kids, Zumba sessions and massages were just part of the fun filling the Boar's Head Conference Center Sunday at the Get Healthy! Get Active Expo. The training program helps prepare women for this month's race.
"We thought this was a great way to introduce people to other health opportunities, so there are lots of things going on. There are several talks from UVA experts on everything from hand held to proper walking form," said Jennifer Bryerton, director of Ivy Publications.
Ivy Publications hosted Sunday's fair. Proceeds from the August 31 Women's Four Miler help fund breast cancer research at the University of Virginia.
