The oldest preschool in
the state, which came close to shutting down, will be raising money to help
keep the center afloat.
Barrett Early Learning Center
in Charlottesville was slated to close its doors next week due to financial
issues, but the community rallied to save it. Saturday, the new board wants to
hear from anyone interested in volunteering or donating to the center.
A lunch is scheduled at Maya
restaurant from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The $30 cost to take part will go
toward saving the center.
