Staunton Bank Hosts School Supply ‘Bonanza’

Posted: Updated:

Staunton is celebrating the back-to-school season with a supplies drive.

Friday, City National Bank hosted the Back-to-School Bonanza. It's a collection event full of fun, games and giveaways. Organizers had a bus on display, a bounce house and coloring tables.

They're asking for donations of notebooks, pencils, hand sanitizer and the like for classrooms.

"Even in a community like ours, there are a lot of kids that can't afford school supplies, so that's something we want to focus on and we have worked with the local schools to talk about things that they need," said Courtney Thompson, assistant vice president of City National Bank's Staunton branch.

Even if you missed out on Friday, you can still drop off supplies at the bank. They'll bring all the supplies to Staunton City Schools right before classes start back up.
